History:
Launched in 2018, American Norwegian Bliss (Breakaway Plus Class) – Norwegian Cruise Line is a Breakaway Plus-class ship in Norwegian Cruise Line’s modern fleet and was custom-built for scenic cruising in some of the world’s most breathtaking regions, including Alaska and the Caribbean. Constructed at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, the vessel was designed to provide unforgettable views, premium experiences, and family-friendly entertainment on a grand scale.
Measuring over 1,094 feet in length, Norwegian Bliss accommodates approximately 4,000 passengers and 1,700 crew members. The ship’s design was tailored with observation in mind—its expansive Observation Lounge and The Haven’s forward-facing private areas were specifically intended for enjoying panoramic views of glaciers, coastlines, and open seas.
Bliss features one of the longest racetracks at sea, offering thrilling go-kart racing high above the ocean. It also houses the innovative laser tag arena and the Galaxy Pavilion, an interactive virtual reality experience. Entertainment is a major highlight, with Broadway-caliber productions such as Jersey Boys, live comedy, and nightclubs adding to the vibrant onboard atmosphere.
Norwegian Bliss also boasts a variety of upscale dining experiences, including fine French cuisine, authentic Texas barbecue, and premium seafood. The ship’s “Freestyle Cruising” concept allows guests to dine, play, and relax entirely on their own schedule, without fixed dining times or dress codes.
Bliss was the first cruise ship to be christened in Seattle, marking its strong connection to Alaskan itineraries. It quickly became a favorite for those seeking both adventure and luxury, cruising through regions like Alaska’s Inside Passage and the sunny islands of the Caribbean.
With a perfect blend of innovation, entertainment, and stunning scenic access, Norwegian Bliss exemplifies Norwegian Cruise Line’s vision of modern cruising, where excitement and elegance come together on every voyage.
